Location

Situated in the heart of St Peter Port, with spectacular views over the

neighbouring islands of Herm and Sark. the Old Government House is Guernsey's oldest established hotel and spa, providing a wealth of leisure facilities.

Features

The Old Government House Hotel and Spa, more affectionately known for hundreds of years as the OGH, is at the heart of St Peter Port, just up the hill from the main shopping street and barely five minute’s walk from the picturesque quayside.

Once inside, you realise that the property is arranged around a gorgeous private garden, with terraces and heated swimming pool. Steeped in history, staying here is a truly unique experience. It still retains the grandeur and elegance of a bygone era, with the traditional levels of personal service to match, and yet it has been sympathetically and lovingly restored to encompass those modern facilities that you would expect in a luxury hotel.

Whether you want to visit the numerous beaches, wander around the harbour and take a boat trip, or just stroll the quaint streets, nowhere is better situated than the OGH – as the one time official residence of the Governor it was very much at the heart of everything that went on in the island.

62 guest rooms.

The Brasserie is set in a spacious and sunny conservatory overlooking the peaceful private gardens. It provides a lovely light and informal environment for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

In the summer months guests can also eat al fresco in The Olive Grove, with gorgeous sea views providing the perfect relaxing backdrop. The popular barbecue dishes straight from the griddle are a must on long sunny days. Equally diners can choose from The Brasserie menus or take afternoon tea in the gardens.

Governors fine dining restaurant is arguably Guernseys most romantic and intimate fine dining restaurant. Adorned with pictures and memorabilia of the islands Governors and lavishly decorated in a bohemian style that harks back to its illustrious past, it is a memorable setting for a candlelit dinner. The cuisine more than does justice to the surroundings, with a seasonal menu that features many classic French dishes and makes excellent use of the Islands fresh catches from the surrounding seas. Alongside the a la carte menu, and not to be missed, is Chefs Surprise Menu Degustation et Vins. Simply sit down and relax, allowing Chef and his team to crate a special 7-course gourmet menu for you, accompanied by carefully selected wines by the sommelier.

For many years guests and locals have visited the OGH for their famous Afternoon Tea, which can be enjoyed in the Sir John Coward Lounge, or outdoors in The Olive Grove and gardens. There is a choice of traditional afternoon tea, or champagne afternoon tea for those looking to indulge or celebrate!

The hotel has its own outdoor pool, plus a comprehensively equipped health club with top of the range fitness machines plus a team of personal trainers to assist you.

The superb spa whose group of therapists and selection of treatments are sure to relax and rejuvenate you.
