Guernsey 3 nights | Sark 2 nights | Herm 2 nights
Day 1 | UK > GuernseyFly to Guernsey and make your own way to 4* The Duke, your home for the first three nights. It sits at the top of the hill in St Peter Port, overlooking a quiet park with views across the town to the sea. The harbour is a short walk away through Candie Gardens, though it's an uphill stroll on the way back. Part of the Red Carnation group, it's a lovely place to idle by the pool or dine on the terrace looking out to Sark and Herm.
Days 2-3 | GuernseyTwo days to explore at your own pace. Follow the island's stunning coastline, browse the shops of St Peter Port and visit the Little Chapel, Candie Gardens and Hauteville House, where Victor Hugo lived during his exile. Over on the west coast, Fort Grey is well worth the trip. Known locally as the 'cup and saucer', this little fort on Rocquaine Bay is now home to a fascinating shipwreck museum.
Day 4 | Guernsey > SarkHead to the Inter Island Quay for the 50 minute sailing to Sark, keeping your eyes peeled for dolphins. On arrival your luggage is taken to the hotel, so you can ride the 'toast-rack' tractor up the steep harbour hill (charges apply) and stroll the easy ten minutes from the village. The family-owned 4* Stocks sits in five acres of woodland in the heart of the island. It's known for friendly, personal service and an informal style, with 23 bedrooms, a popular evening restaurant and the 16th century Smuggler's Bar.
Day 5 | SarkTake a horse and carriage tour, or do as many locals do and hire a bike. Cycle over La Coupée to Little Sark, relax at Dixcart Bay or wander around the Seigneurie Gardens. The choice is yours!
Day 6 | Sark > Guernsey > HermTake the ferry back to Guernsey, then hop across to idyllic, car-free Herm. The 4* White House stands on the harbour front as the island's only hotel. Bedrooms are in pastel-coloured cottages with no TVs and no clocks, so it's the perfect place to switch off.
Day 7 | HermHerm is a little oasis, with crystal-clear water, long stretches of white sand and wild cliff paths looking out to the French coast. Shell Beach and Belvoir Bay are a short walk from the hotel. Perhaps hire a kayak and paddle out to sea, and if you're lucky you may spot dolphins, puffins and seals.
Day 8 | Herm > Guernsey > UKTake the ferry back to Guernsey for your journey home. Fancy a few more days? Just ask us about extending your stay on Guernsey.
