Did you know the Isle of Man is the birthplace of Pilates?!
Over 100 years ago, Joseph Pilates developed his method while interned at Knockaloe during WW1 - inspired not only by controlled movement, but by the agility and fluid motion of the Island's iconic Manx cats.
On 19th July 2026, Ramsey Crookall, in collaboration with 34Moves and Visit Isle of Man, plan to establish not only the world record for the largest Pilates class but also to host a global Pilates homecoming to Knockaloe on the Isle of Man.
This attempt to break the current world record of 3,486 participants will be led by top instructors from around the world, offering an enjoyable, inclusive, wellness-focused experience for beginners and experts of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to come together in unity and movement.

The Sefton is a traditional property set in the heart of Douglas, with excellent views over the bay. The hotel is built around an indoor atrium and guests have the option of choosing a balcony room overlooking the array of indoor flora and fauna. Excellent service is provided throughout the hotel and guests can be assured of a welcoming and comfortable stay.
