Discover two of the Channel Islands’ most charming destinations in one week-long holiday, beginning with three peaceful nights on Alderney before a short hop across to Guernsey for four nights in St Peter Port. You’ll stay at The Blonde Hedgehog, a luxury boutique hotel on the cobbled streets of St Anne, with a free upgrade to a suite, subject to availability, and a complimentary three-course dinner on your first evening. Then you’ll move on to the 5★ Old Government House Hotel & Spa, where £25pp dinner credit awaits on your first night.
With seven nights across the two islands, you’ll have time to walk Alderney’s coastal paths and find a quiet bay of your own, before swapping island life for the harbourside cafés, independent shops and heritage and World War II fortifications of Guernsey.
About your hotels
Set within beautifully restored 18th century buildings, Boutique The Blonde Hedgehog is a delightful little haven with thoughtfully designed rooms spread between the main hotel and Clarence House. Expect warm and inviting accommodation with a home-from-home feel that reflects the island's character, along with pretty gardens and a short walk to several of Alderney's beaches.
Your upgrade takes you to Clarence House, the hotel's elegant neighbour and once a family home to Alderney's aristocracy, where the two ground floor suites each have a large double bedroom, a separate lounge and a generous en-suite with a deep freestanding bathtub. Le Marais has an original fireplace, while Le Huret is full of rustic charm with exposed brick and stonework, so whichever you stay in, you'll have plenty of space to settle in and unwind after a day on the cliff paths.
The hotel is highly regarded for its restaurant and bar, where island flavours take centre stage. Some of Alderney's finest produce is crafted into bold, seasonal dishes that celebrate both land and sea, making your complimentary dinner one of the highlights of your stay.
Once the official residence of Guernsey’s Governor, Old Government House sits above St Peter Port with views across the harbour towards Castle Cornet and the neighbouring islands. This grand 5★ hotel combines its heritage with elegant rooms, a relaxing spa and an outdoor heated pool. You’ll be just a short stroll from the cobbled streets of the town, with its boutiques, restaurants and waterfront. Your £25pp dinner credit is the perfect excuse to settle in on your first evening and enjoy the hotel’s dining.
About the islands
Alderney is the most northerly of the inhabited Channel Islands and just a short flight away. At three and a half miles long and a mile and a half wide, it's an island made for exploring at a gentle pace, with sandy beaches, dramatic coastal walks and Victorian and wartime forts dotted along the shoreline.
Nature lovers will find plenty to enjoy too. Gannets gather in their thousands on the rocky stacks of Les Étacs, and Alderney is famous for its rare blonde hedgehogs, seldom found anywhere else in Europe and the very creatures that gave the hotel its name. With around 2,000 residents and a relaxed pace of life, it's the perfect island for a peaceful escape.
Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands, known for its pretty harbour capital, St Peter Port, and around 27 miles of coastal paths along dramatic southern cliffs and sandy western bays. Visit Castle Cornet, explore Victor Hugo’s former home at Hauteville House, or simply enjoy the island’s excellent food scene and relaxed pace of life.
